Who is responsible

This website is operated for UNIT Defence, a brand of Defenco Logistics B.V., Prinsengracht 35, 1015 DL Amsterdam, Netherlands. You can send privacy questions to the email address below.

Hosting and technical data

The website is hosted by Lovable, which delivers it through a globally distributed hosting network. When you visit the website, your browser connects to that network. Technical data such as your IP address, browser details, the requested page and the time of the request are processed to deliver and secure the website. If an error occurs in the page, technical error information such as the error message and the affected page may be passed to the hosting platform so that faults can be detected. Lovable’s visitor analytics is active on this website: the hosting platform loads a script that compiles aggregated visitor statistics, such as page views. Cloudflare forms part of the hosting network’s security. The website contains no further analytics, advertising or social media tracking tools.

Cookies and browser storage

The website’s own code does not use the local storage of your browser and sets only one functional cookie, and only when you choose a language manually: unit_defence_language, which stores just the chosen language code (en, nl, de or fr) so that the home address opens in that language on your next visit. It applies only to this website and expires after 180 days; you can delete it at any time, and switching languages also works if cookies are blocked. The hosting network does set one security cookie: Cloudflare’s __cf_bm cookie, which helps distinguish harmful automated traffic from normal visits. According to Cloudflare, it is encrypted except for timing information, applies only to this website and expires after 30 minutes of continuous inactivity. To restore scroll positions while you move between pages, it keeps a technical entry in the session storage of your browser, which is removed when you close the tab. Your form entries are never stored there. Fonts and images are loaded from the website’s own address.

Enquiry form

Your entries remain in browser memory while the page is open. The website does not save or submit them and there is no file upload. Open email draft passes the text to your email application, where you review and send it yourself. Copy places the text on the clipboard of your device.

Emails you send to us

If you email us, we use the information you provide to answer your enquiry and to handle any resulting business contact. Share only non-sensitive, unclassified information. Tender submissions and classified information must use the official channels intended for them.

Purposes and lawful bases

We process technical data to deliver, secure and maintain the website, based on our legitimate interest in a reliable and secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We process the information in emails you send us to answer your enquiry and to handle any resulting business contact, based on our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries or, where relevant, to take steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Retention

Technical data is kept by the hosting provider for as long as needed for delivery, security and fault detection, in line with that provider’s own retention practices. We keep emails and related business correspondence for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any resulting business relationship, and longer only where a legal obligation requires it.

Recipients and international processing

Technical data is processed by our hosting provider. Emails you send us are received and stored through Google Workspace, our email service provider. Because the hosting network is globally distributed, technical data may be processed outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, transfers rely on the safeguards offered by the relevant provider, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. We do not sell personal data and do not share it for advertising.

Your rights
